Shutters!

Yep. Shutters.

Shutters are the interior designer‘s best friend and the most appreciated window covering because they offer so many options for light control, they add value to the home, and last for the longest amount of time out of the other available window covering options. They are beautiful and elegant semi-permanent additions to your home.

The WOW Effect

Shutters have a wow affect on everybody the minute they see them. This is what everyone strives for when designing their home. Whether that “WOW” is subtle and understated or bold and beautiful, shutters help you get there.  Modern shutters have “invisible” hinges and center poles that are not truly “invisible,” but are offered in 5 different finishes to coordinate with the hardware in the room. This is a nice, subtle touch to any living space.

“Shutters our our forte. We take the time and look at the house and the room’s design and we choose the right frame for the shutter.”

Shutters for your Santa Barbara Home or Office

Shutters are great for home or office because they are study and come in a variety of colors and finishes, which is why it’s hard to beat shutters as a window covering choice. They make quite the fashion statement!
Shutters do what blinds do but with an aesthetic that is more pleasing to some, and in recent years, shutters have made big strides in advancements. It might not sound like much, nowadays you don’t have to stick with traditional shutters to have gorgeous additions to your home or office that add value.

For example, shutters used to require a stick to adjust the angle of the shutter, but not any more. As mentioned above, “invisible hinge” shutters are gorgeous, and at first glance most people don’t notice anything except their beauty. Then, by degrees, the appeal of these shutters grows on your guests. Upon further inspection, one realizes the subtle, understated difference and the quality of design and its seamless integration into the house make itself apparent. These modern shutters are truly the best of modern elegance. What’s more, these shutters are GUARANTEED FOR LIFE and are repairable, making them an excellent addition to your home.

There are many, many options to choose from. There are 2.5”, 3.5”, 4.5” for louvres, and different frames for different windows. Wooden shutters come in a range of colors, as Tom demonstrates in the image below, but they cannot be painted.

Composite Shutters

Yes, shutters have come a long way in recent years.  Composite shutters offer a more durable, weather resistant finish and come with a poly resin finish that is permanent and is recommended for rooms with moisture like bathrooms or beach locations.

Composite shutters match a wide variety of materials and this greatly expands their functionality and their desirability. They are a more-affordable option compared to wood, but they needn’t look it!
